My primary therapy focus is Visceral Manipulation (organ mobilisation), but as the body is a co-integration and co-regulation of various systems it is important to also consider other influencing aspects from your lymphatic and craniosacral systems, and your functional breathing patterns.
Visceral Manipulation is predominantly a type of fascial release technique, that encourages more gliding ability of all structures between the fascial layers of the body, The focus is on internal organs and vessels (vascular, neural and lymphatic). It is a technique that works into the ease of fascial restrictions to facilitate a regulated nervous system response and a smoother integration post therapy session.
By working in this context, it corrects musculoskeletal imbalances and increases fluid flow (vascular, cerebral spinal fluid, lymphatic fluid and synovial fluid). It also allows internal organs to occupy more space as they regain their range of motility & mobility movements and stimulates neuro feedback.
Aligning in with visceral manipulation is a focus on body somatics with the Somatic Experiencing® framework of nervous system regulation. Exploring cultivating an awareness of your internal and external environment of body sensations, images, behaviours, emotions and beliefs.
Loose comfy clothing is best to wear during the treatment. Please be mindful not to wear firm fitting underwear or gym/yoga leggings as this can hinder your natural lymphatic fluid flow.
As each day is different so is your body. Clients find their treatment session will vary depending on "where they are at" on the day.
NB: you don't need to worry about trying to work out which therapy modality you need. I pick and choose as the session progresses.
