Somatic Be'ing

The mind-body tuning process is about starting to become an embodying be'ing instead of just do'ing.

As humans we are wired to make sure we are safe in our environments, our outward landscape and our inner landscape. Our exteroception and interoception senses are primed to help us stay within our ‘window of regulation’ for an in-tune, soothing & playfully curious Autonomic Nervous System.

What we are looking at accomplishing in these sessions is to develop a re-awareness of all our 8 senses, bringing in greater resiliency to living life.

Applying concepts of polyvagal theory, neuroception and neuroplasticity, there are choices of active bodily aware exercises for us to explore during the session and for you to continue to practice in between sessions.

Using a blend of top-down (cognitive) and bottom-up (sensory) exercises allows for a positive shift in the regulation of your nervous system, bringing yourself more into a felt sense of safety. When your body knows it is safe, there is an opportunity for past stressful events to obtain a sense of containment, release and/or completion.
